Evaporative cooling — simply explained
Kabel units cool using the same principle nature has always used to cool itself: the evaporation of water.
The principle
When water evaporates it needs energy — and it draws that energy from the surrounding air in the form of heat. You feel exactly this effect by the sea or after summer rain. Kabel coolers draw in warm air and pass it through water-soaked Greenpads with a large surface area. Water evaporates, the air cools noticeably and is filtered at the same time. A powerful axial fan then distributes the cooled fresh air around the room.

Honest advice: where evaporative cooling excels
Evaporative cooling develops its full effect in dry to moderately humid air — values below 50% relative humidity are ideal. In open, semi-open and well-ventilated areas (terraces, hospitality, workshops, winter gardens) it clearly outperforms conventional systems in efficiency and fresh-air quality. For permanently very humid, closed rooms we recommend personal advice — we will tell you honestly whether a Kabel unit is the right choice for your use case.
Tips for maximum cooling performance
- Keep a door or window open — this creates a steady stream of fresh air
- Use cold water; some models can additionally be run with ice packs
- Point the unit towards the area where people are
- Clean Greenpads and filters regularly — this maintains performance and hygiene
